AIRBRUSHTECHNIQUE.COM - We wanted to do something special at the show to get the crowd going, so about 2 weeks ago, I came up with the idea of a paint off.....student vrs the teacher......between myself and Richard Markham. For those of you who don't know, Rich got me into airbrushing about 3 1/2 yrs ago. The idea is a "No Holds Barred" Live Paint-Off between the two of us. We painted 2 of the Mini-Hoods that I had left over from this past summer. There was a 30 minute time limit.
Well, Rich has been obsessed that I had something up my sleeve.....since it was my idea.....and was actually a bit worried with what I was going to do......so, he pulled out the "big guns" for this one. He uses his own brand of Airbrush, which happens to be a .3mm. I, on the other hand, use an Iwata Eclipse with a .5mm nozzle. He actually had a buddy of his overnight ship him an Eclipse so he could keep up with me.
Cleveland, Ohio--Ohio Technical College (OTC) has partnered with Championship Auto Shows' Student Career Day program to encourage high school students to consider jobs in the automotive industry.
Championship Auto Shows - producers of the World of Wheels, AutoRama and Cavalcade of Customs car shows throughout North America - started Student Career Day as an initiative to support automotive educational programs at schools by exposing students to the wide range of opportunities in the industry. Student Career Day brings groups of high school juniors and seniors to visit the shows before they open to the public and hear guest speakers talk about career opportunities.
"We are excited to be partnering on this program where we'll bring 400 to 500 students to our events and get them interested in an automotive career," said Bob Lawson, show manager, Championship Auto Shows, and a graduate of OTC. "We're glad OTC is reaching out to these students to explain the various career options they have to offer."
As part of the program, Ohio Technical College will take its airbrush demonstration - the "Evolution of Life Fuel Your Future Road Show" - to three AutoRama events: Detroit (Feb. 26), Chicago (March 5) and Boston (March 12-14).
